I have discovered that nutritional yeast, when combined with a bit of water, makes an incredible cheesy sauce. Next step: buy broccoli, steam, cover in said sauce.

If you're a pepper fan, that adds a nice dimension, too. I think I'll actually bother playing around with spices and herbs in this case; it takes them well.

I was thinking along the lines of oregano or basil, but a bit of pepper and olive oil may do the trick.

Mm. Basil. This reminds me that I have mint and parsley in the fridge that need to be used for... something. Though the mint certainly is not getting anywhere near a cheesy sauce.

If you like sweets, I would suggest chocolate mint cookies. But yeah, mint and cheesy sauce have little in common.

*.* We need to talk more often. You have good ideas. Also, re: the basil, I should add that this is more like cheddar than anything else – I bet you could do a mac n' cheese tastealike with it.

Totally agreed!

Re: basil. That's a cool idea! I love trying new recipes, it's fun :D

Hee, yes! Sometimes when I run low on food in the pantry/fridge it turns out to be a good thing, since it gets me out of my eating routine.

Exactly! I'll open the cabinets, make a list of stuff I have and try to come up with something. Alternatively, there's always Google ;)

So I'm reinventing the wheel, eh? This is not unusual for my discoveries. I really need to read more on the topic.

I had grits and potatoes for breakfast and an omelet and green beans for lunch. I had probably about six glasses of water with both and another two or three during the day.

The high temps can stay, the humidity needs to go less than 110%, kthxbai.
