As my sister has finally admitted that Something we eat on a regular basis is screwing with her and since I need to isolate whatever else is screwing with me, my house (or at least the two of us) is going on/going back on an elimination diet.

While I used this elimination diet last time, and am currently pricing naturopaths, it is probable that we do not really have the money to go that route. And the diet I did was specifically for my migraines from hell.

So. Anyone around here done this before, and what path did you take?

I just tend to not eat the things that need to be eliminated, you know? I went on an anticandida diet years ago, and it helped everything: moods, weight, bloating, illnesses, respiratory, whatever, and involved eating stuff on a list which I am sure people could dig up for free online, no sugars, wheats, pickled stuff, dairy except mayonnaise, stuff like that. The results were dramatic for me, and think people can follow guidelines in books or online, especially these days. I find that not being able to eat some stuff made more money available to buy healthier stuff, so I didn't go broke doing it--since you know that migraine is your problem, I would think that following whatever was given for that would help. Am I missing something in the question...? I sometimes do! ahahaha!

That workbook thing is nice but ... Jebus that's a lot of things to eliminate from your diet. It seems like doing it in stages would be most manageable? Like pick x number of things to eliminate per every 2 months or something.

I'm thinking about doing an elimination with no: eggs, corn, dairy, soy, coconut, carbonated beverages and caffeine. Maybe no nuts or onions/garlic either. (things like no MSG and no artificial sweeteners are kind of a given)

I do not anticipate this being much fun :\

I'm glad your sister is ready to do this though.
