Date: 2011-08-31 11:23 pm (UTC)That's kind of how the last few days of eating have been going. Good intentions, poor follow through. Sigh. (Other things I have eaten today include: coffee. I suppose I'll make myself dinner soon, anyway.)

Date: 2011-09-01 12:20 am (UTC)Today has gone fairly well in terms of food quality, but not so great in terms of quantity - I have some catching up to do tonight. This morning I was leaving the house in a hurry so I grabbed a box of raspberries, which was tasty but not what I'd call a balanced breakfast. Lunch consisted of rice with lentils and veggies, as well as some mixed fruit. Dinner is black lentils and basmati rice prepared Indian-style. Overall, I'm well below where I want to be calorie-wise, and also haven't had any leafy greens, so I'm going to try to rectify that tonight in my meals.
For anyone interested: I found a vegan protein drink with acai by Sombazon. It is a little more sugar than I prefer, but it is rich in omega fatty acids and has a decent amount of protein, plus a bit of iron, calcium, etc. I find that if you need to add on calories, liquid calories can be a great way to achieve goals, and something like this provides a bit more nutrition than sugary drinks.

Date: 2011-09-01 01:36 am (UTC)I had yogurt and granola for breakfast; Ak-Mak crackers (mmm) for an at-work snack; strawberries, a cookie, and leftover pasta + chicken sausage + red peppers for lunch; and frozen pizza + broccoli for dinner. Aaand then some vodka. Quite a bit of vodka. \o/

Date: 2011-09-01 01:47 am (UTC)I didn't eat breakfast at home, though I did take a banana with me and ate that first thing. It wasn't enough and I always feel like I fail at breakfast if I don't eat before I leave for work.
Lunch was a bowl of pasta with jarred tomato sauce.
Afternoon snack was an apple.
Pre-run snack this evening was a banana, and then because I knew I was going to write down what I wrote I actually stopped at the grocery store on the way home to pick up what I needed for green bean casserole. I modified the classic French's onions recipe and put slices of bread on the bottom of the pan for carbs and added a can of kidney beans for protein. It turned out just fine so I might do it this way again.
Day 6
Date: 2011-09-01 01:49 am (UTC)Lunch: Veggie Soup and cheese sandwich
Snack: Juice, plum
Dinner: Smart Ones Spaghetti dinner
Snack: ??? nothing sounds good, but munchies are kicking in. Oven is cleaning so baking is out. Will delay until I fall asleep or until something appeals to me.
