Date: 2011-08-30 06:57 pm (UTC)It should get better though because I'm just waiting for a bus home!
The most stressful parts of my day are over. ^^
(I had an 8am Comp Sci class, then I was coerced to munch something before horseback riding, then I nibbled on something miniscule to help the thinking for my next class, Biblical Greek, then I spoke with the head of my major department, who is a very scary man!
I totally forgot I wanted to minor in the Classics and that I wanted to make my Bassoon lesson a 3 credit endeavour. D: So that'll be probably tomorrow... u_u if I ever manage to make myself brave!
I just learned that brave and barbaric stem from the same word!)

Date: 2011-08-30 07:17 pm (UTC)Is it okay if I give you some other suggestions? It sounds like you have some very busy stressful days where good nutrition would be very important.

Date: 2011-08-30 11:16 pm (UTC)In terms of suggestion:
1. you're a uni student, right? Does your uni's student health service offer dietitians that students can see? When I was having my problems with no appetite, I went and saw one of the free dietitians from the uni, and we sat down and made a list of easy foods I had the ingredients to make. It was helpful to have that list written down, because often when I wasn't hungry but needed to eat, I just wouldn't be able to think of anything. It helps if you can take the dietitian a sheet that says "this is what I have been eating every day for the past week" so that they can get an idea of where you are at, nutritionally.
2. It seems you already know it's important to eat to help your brain function, but this site goes into detail about the science of it, and how eating the right things can actually help your memory. It's a long page, but at the end they have a list of foods with their glycemic index value- low GI foods are better because they don't spike your blood sugar as much, which means less of a crash. Things like dried apricots are easy to take with you to class to munch on- assuming you like apricots, of course.
I also don't know if this has been your personal experience or not, but when I eat enough, I feel better, mood-wise. I feel more like I'm capable of doing things, instead of "bleh, but I dun wanna :("

Date: 2011-09-04 04:06 pm (UTC)*shrug* I'm not a nutrition expert either - the closest I've got is that a former oboist colleague in my studio has changed majors from Oboe Performance to Nutrition.
Perhaps I could see about conversing with a free uni dietitian! Next Wednesday is a Student Involvement Fair...
Thank you for the Franklin Institute link!! *munches dried apricots*
I eat whatever I can whenever I can, so a strict list of what I've had recently would be difficult to construct. @_@ It's a good idea, though!
Thank you for your help ^_^

Date: 2011-08-30 07:21 pm (UTC)For lunch I experimented with making a rice noodle soup thing. It didn't turn out well, but oh well, that happens when you experiment X3
